Why Gloss Meter Calibration?

Gloss is the ability of a surface to reflect light without scattering.

Gloss meters are used to measure gloss. In many different industries, gloss is measured by using a gloss meter to direct a constant power light beam at an angle to the test surface and then to monitor the amount of reflected light. Different surfaces require different reflective angles, and a gloss meter must be capable of measuring gloss at all of the most important angles.

The gloss angle settings are vital, and the measurements must be correct. Thus, gloss meters must be calibrated in order to be sure that the gloss measurements are as perfect as possible.
